Nicole Ari Parker was born in New York City. She is an American actor in stage and films. Her most notable role as Teri her passionate lawyer Teri Jospehson, on the Showtime TV series Soul Food. The actress is known under her married name, Nikki Kodjoe. From the time she was a child, Nikki Kodjoe was a natural actor. At an Maryland competition for students in high school, she won the award for Best Actress. Her acting diploma was earned from the New York University after working for 'The Washington Ballet Company' and performing in the theatre. There was a lot of praise after her debut large role in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love. Later came films such as 'Boogie Nights Spark & Blue Streak. Soul Food, her TV show was greatly praised because of the performances she performed. Her TV appearances included Second Time Around and Empire. In the past she was a part of numerous stage productions. Parker with a strong interest in politics, is married with actor/model Boris Kodjoe. Their two children are born.
Contractor, who was brought up by his parents from Nigeria and Mumbai before he turned seven, had traveled around all over the world and had a taste of many cultures as a child. When she was seven until nine, Contractor went to boarding school in London. Her family relocated to Toronto which she stayed in throughout her early years. Contractor was a brilliant scholar in Toronto and trained to be a classical ballet dancer. She was a student at the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, an arts school which focuses on theater and dance. Contractor aged 16 at the time she realized that acting would become her profession. She danced for a decade. When she graduated from high school, Contractor accepted a scholarship at the University of Toronto to pursue the dual field of sociology and psychology. Additionally, she earned a Master's degree in Theatre. After one year at University, Contractor went to an audition on a call-to-action basis for the play Pericles in the highly regarded and renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and was offered the leading role. In 2002, Canadian theater critics were awed by her performance in 92 performances of the play. The actor was invited to take part in the conservatory, where the top eight men and four women are accepted for a course lasting 20 weeks in classical theatre, which she was eager to take. Her place in the upcoming production was secured, and she was chosen of Hermia.
